Daniel Knapp "Steel", FM 24255, was raised on the central coast. He joined the United States Army in 1996 and retired in 2016, serving a full 20 year career as an Infantry Mortarman. He was assigned to C co 3rd/502d Inf Regt, 101st ABN Div AASLT, Fort Campbell Ky, C co and HHC 5th/20th Inf Reg, 2nd Inf Div, Fort Lewis, Wa, HHC 2nd/11th ACR, Fort Irwin, CA, HHC 2nd/9th Inf Regt, 2nd Inf Div, Camp Casey, South Korea, B co TFV, Fort Jackson, SC, F Trp and G Trp 2nd/3rd ACR, Fort Hood, TX, HQ S3, 2nd/13th Inf , 193 Inf BDE, HHC 2nd/87th Inf, 10th Mtn Inf Div Light. During his career, He deployed to Iraq, FOB Campbell, Diyallah Province, and FOB Diamond Back, Mosul. Afghanistan, FOB Shank and OP English, Logar Province. He joined CVMA ® February 2020, and has held the Secretary, XO, and Chapter Commander Positions.
Fernando "Slap Chop" Castillo, FM 31743, Joined the United States Air Force in 2000 and is still active duty. Slap Chop, an esteemed Master Sergeant in the USAF, boasts a distinguished career spanning over 23 years of dedicated service. Throughout his tenure, he has excelled in numerous leadership positions across squadrons, wings, numbered air forces, and major commands. Notably, he has proudly contributed to the missions such as Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Freedoms Sentinels, and Inherent Resolve during his deployments.

Gunnery Sergeant (Ret) joined the United States Marine Corps after high school as an Infantry Assaultman. He specialized in Small Unit Tactics, Anti-Armor Operations, Demolitions, and Command Center Ops. He served domestically performing Joint Task Force 6 Anti-Narcotics Missions and was part of the QRF after 9/11 for all contingencies west of the Mississippi. In 2003, he deployed to Iraq as part of the 1st Marine Division's "March Up" and Liberation of Iraq. He led the column of 2nd Bn 23d Marines from the Kuwait Line of Departure into Iraq, followed by combat ops. Upon joining Marine Corps Installations West, he became the Emergency Ops Center Chief in charge of training and real world events. His last post was the Ops Chief of Marine Force Pacific Command Ops Center for the Korean peninsula. Dragon joined the CVMA in 2020. He is very involved with VFW Post 10978 and is a CIF Champion Mission College Prep Football Coach.
Jason "OX" Oxley, FM 30325, Born in 1982 in Central Ohio. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees in June 2001. Participated in 5 deployments, 2 of which were combat tours to Iraq. Exited the U.S. Navy in August 2006. Spent the last 18 years working the oil fields on the California Central Coast. Father of 2 and Husband to 1.
Joshua Miller "Hooker", FM 24975, was born and raised in Nipomo, California. He joined the United States Army in Nov 1999 as a CH-47D Medium Helicopter Mechanic, He went to basic training at Fort Benning, Ga., AIT completed at Ft Eustiss, VA and then stationed at Ft Bragg, NC and Fort Wainwright, AK. He deployed to Iraq in July 2005, left active duty in July 2006 and spent a year in the California National Guard, then joined the Air force Reserve out of March AFB, Ca. He left the Air force reserve in August 2011. He then worked as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan for five years as a helicopter mechanic. He currently works as Helicopter Mechanic. He joined CVMA ® in July 2020 with 33-4 and is also heavily involved with the SLO County VFW, Welcome Home Military Heroes and Honor flight.
Alejandro "Dexter" Amado, S-2405, joined the United States Air Force in 2001, embarking on a journey that would exemplify dedication, skill, and a commitment to national security. Starting as an Electro-mechanical technician at Malmstrom Air Force Base (AFB) in Montana, Dexter quickly established himself as a vital asset to the missile maintenance team. In this role, he was responsible for the upkeep and functionality of an impressive arsenal of 200 Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs). His technical proficiency and meticulous attention to detail ensured that these powerful weapons remained ready and operational, safeguarding the nation's defense capabilities.
